Virus interrupts world’s longest running cartoon

Source: AFP ,

The long acclaimed longest-running animated TV series by Guinness World Records has been hampered by the outbreak of the virus, with animation dubbing halted to keep staff safe, broadcaster Fuji Television Network said.
"We will halt broadcast of new episodes of 'Sazae-san' for the time being from May 17 and instead air re-runs," it announced on Sunday.
The network said upcoming broadcasts would be episodes from two years ago, adding it would announce a date for the resumption of new episodes as soon as possible.
It is the first time the network has been forced to air re-runs since 1975, when the economic effects of an earlier oil crisis lingered.
Japan has seen a comparatively small corona-virus outbreak with nearly 15,800 infections and 621 deaths.

The country is under a state of emergency that was extended last week until the end of May, though the government is considering lifting the measures early in parts of the country.

Production of the world's longest-running cartoon and a mainstay of the Japanese weekend has been interrupted by the corona-virus, forcing the broadcast of re-runs for the first time in decades.
"Sazae-san", which first aired in 1969, revolves around the life of Mrs Sazae, a cheerful but klutzy full-time housewife who lives with her parents, husband, son, brother and sister.
The 30-minute episodes aired Sunday nights are very popular, and for many in Japan have come to denote the end of the weekend.

I'M Short of words

So suddenly:

New York 'the city that never sleeps' is now asleep, all quiet.

Paris the 'center of romance' lives in echos.

Rome 'the eternal city' is deserted.

Disney is out of magic.

London is caged in silence, the Queen speaks to her people from a hidden room.

Mecca is empty! Nobody  to 'stone the devil'.

The Chinese wall is no longer a fortress.

The G8 nations are speechless.

The developed world suddenly on its knees.

Churches, mosques,  great parks, monuments, stadiums are filled with unfilled spaces.

The busiest places at present were hitherto the most dreaded: hospitals and cemeteries.

The famous football leagues, the fashion shows, exotic weddings, festivals all lost to memory.

Celebrities have run out of celebrations. Our titles, status and privileged positions are stale.

With all our boastful 'citizenships' we cannot step out of our houses. With all our savings in gold and cash, we can only buy food to eat and toilet papers to take care of the waste.

We usually went to watch animals in cages, now animals roam our empty streets, watching us in our 'cages'.

With our expensive clothes and shoes, our house clothes and pyjamas are the latest fashion.

AND despite all these 'oddities'...the world still goes on; the sun still shines; the birds still sing.

When this long night finally gets over and a new day sets in, let us not forget the lesson of the long night - that the only essential is LIFE, the rest are but dispensable prefixes and suffixes - BUSY EMPTINESS.
   VANITY UPON VANITY

Copied.

Just in case our stubborn HM refuses to close down the school as instructed by the Government, I will do everything to protect myself from Corona.

Dragon Ball Narrator and Voice Actor Brice Armstrong Has Passed Away

Today, the Dragon Ball community is mourning the loss of one of its own. Reports have gone live which confirm Brice Armstrong, the narrator of Dragon Ball's dub, has passed away. He was 84 years old.
ComicBook.com can confirm Armstrong passed away on January 10 from natural causes. At this time, there is no word on memorial services for the actor, but fans are paying tribute to Armstrong the best way they know how. If you were to search the actor online, you will see memorials pop up by the second, and they come from fans wanting to thank the actor for bringing Dragon Ball into their lives.

For those unfamiliar with the actor, Armstrong was the narrator on the Funimation dub of Dragon Ball. He went on to join the cast of Dragon Ball Z where he voiced Captain Ginyu. He would return to the franchise with the fourth Dragon Ball movie as the narrator before playing Lord Slug in Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug.
Outside of Dragon Ball, the voice actor played numerous other roles. He worked on the Lupin III franchise as Douglas, Baki the Grappler, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, and Yu Yu Hakusho.
Over on Facebook, Mary Collins Agency posted a touching memorial to the veteran voice actor. "In the anime and game community, Brice is perhaps best known as the narrator for the original Dragonball series, characters Captain Ginyu and Lord Slug in Dragonball Z, as well as providing voices on Yu Yu Hakusho, Lupin III, Case Closed and many other titles," the company who represented Armstrong, shared with fans.

"Christopher Sabat, a Mary Collins Agency voice actor and founder of Okratron 5000, worked with and directed Brice often. 'Brice was the kindest, funniest person I’ve ever known. He was always humble, never in a bad mood–not the attitude you’d expect from such an industry legend.'"
Our thoughts and prayers are with the actor's loved ones. Armstrong is survived by his six children and nine grandchildren. His wife Marianna preceded him in death in 2008.

Wake Up and please don't Skip this

I just want to start this year, 2020, by sharing a YouTube video I stumble upon to get us motivated. As we put in the work this year, let’s always remember the most important people in our lives, because at the end of it all what really matters is how well we’ve:

Lived, Loved and learned to let go. It is truly eye opening!
