WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR IN 2016

The year 2015 started and ended on a positive note for us at the Flinger Nose Comics, (www.flingernosecomics.blogspot.com), a subsidiary of Exconc Studios Publications. At first we looked for the inertia to begin, and then we started on a low note, persevered on our blogging activities, got feedbacks and made some corrections along the way. And not one week passed by without dropping at least two to three posts on our blog. We want to use this medium to thank all our viewers, followers, interviewers, subscribers, our generous contributors and all those we have used their contents on our one way or the other.

In 2016, we hope to continue giving you our regular features on our blog, from the Tutorials, Ruff Affairs, Flinger Nose Cartoons, Special Sundays, Solo gags and the regular interviews and moral anecdotes, and we hope to introduce some few more contents and enlists more contributors. More importantly, before the second quarter of 2016, we shall also start our YouTube channel, where some of our animation tutorials and activities can be viewed. We would also like to include some few adverts on our pages, especially those ads pertaining to children, education and what the family units can relate with. They can come from confectionaries manufacturers, the educational institutions, the entertainment industries and others, but definitely not from manufacturers of contents for children below 18 years.

Also, before the end of the first quarter of 2016, the first issue of the flinger nose comic book will be coming to print in English. Presently our correspondent are in Nigeria, Ghana, the US, and India. To get a full 24 pages of Flinger Nose mischief, please keep visiting our blog from time to time for regular updates. It shall be a colorful and hilarious experience for both children and adults as well.  Presently we are on the following social networks, with these handles, flingernosecomics@facebook.com, @flingernose@twitter.com, flingernosecomics@gooogle+.com, Search for us, add and like us. For those interested in featuring any of their ads on our blog, please send us a mail at flingernosecomics@gmail.com

For the rest of the few days of the year 2015 to come to completion, our blogging activities shall reduce. This does not mean that we are completely stopping; however we shall be reposting some of our old posts and taking some few ones from others. We look forward to seeing you again in 2016.

Thank you.

THE LEGEND OF THE TREE BOY (12)

12.       THE LEGEND

At the middle of the night when there was no body around, Bale suddenly became transformed into a boy again. However, he had become bald and very weak, and to make matters worse, his left ear was chopped off and was bleeding. Then, he realized that the leaves he had shed indiscriminately were his hair and that part of the branches that the old man had cut represented his left ear. He became very ashamed of the way he looked and for that reason fled the village that same night before he could be seen by any other living thing  apart from the trees.

SNORING REHEARSAL

THE LEGEND OF THE TREE BOY (11)

11.       THE LUCKIEST TREE

Almost five days had passed after the men's initial appearance still nothing happened. The sight of Bale's tree was displeasing to passers by for it looked even uglier, because it obviously lacked the basic nutrients and had almost completely shed away all the leaves on it. At times, he would overhear some of the women going to the market square asking: When will they cut off this ugly tree? The fun was obviously over! It was clear that no one loved the unsightly tree he had become. And if he had his way, he would have transformed into his human form that night and shamefully leave the village before being noticed the following morning. He prayed for the old man to come before the lumberjacks would return. Sometimes he couldn't stop wondering if the old man would ever return into the village again after what he did to him.
But about a fortnight after, his prayer was answered. He saw the same old man walking by. He was scavenging for manure from dead plants. He shouted on top of his voice, “Baba, Baba!” And the old man looked around to see the owner of the familiar voice, but couldn't sight anyone. So he continued with what he was doing. “Baba! It is I, Bale.” This time the boy's voice came more strongly.

The Challenges of Migrating from Conventional to Digital Arts the 21st Century in Nigeria’s Tertiary Institutions (2)

FNC: Every session students all around continue to produce beautiful Masterpieces either as assignments or as projects; only to be awarded marks in return. For example I saw a beautifully done hand painted motif by one of the students in the textile Department and I believe that such prototype should be marketable for the Textile industry. What effort are you making to invite Art collectors and other stakeholders in the industry as a whole to pick the interest and regularly come into our institutions and buy some of the works at a discounted price and for some to scout for upcoming talents and potential employee after graduation?  Or do you think that such exercise would distract the students from concentrating on their studies?

The Challenges of Migrating from Conventional to Digital Arts the 21st Century in Nigeria’s Tertiary Institutions (1)

Our correspondents caught up with him and found out his opinion on the Theme:   The Challenges of Migrating from Conventional to Digital Arts the 21st Century in our Tertiary Institutions. And despite his busy schedule, he still made out some time out for us. Please read on.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Just Broke Our Hearts With a Brutal Death

By Billy Nilles

Warning:
Don't read any further if you haven't watched yet. Say it ain't so! The fiercest bob on TV is no more. That's right: Rosalind Price and her magnificent hair cut were brutally murdered in the opening moments of tonight's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And though she hadn't been around long, this loss hurts, not only because we don't like to see Phil Coulson in pain. We'd only just gotten confirmation that Rosalind (Constance Zimmer) was someone Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the team could trust and that piece of work Ward (Brett Dalton) had to go and shoot her in the neck. It's pretty safe to say that Ward and S.H.I.E.L.D. are never ever getting back together. Why'd he do it? Simple revenge for the loss of Kara/Agent 33 at the end of last season. From there, we saw a Coulson unhinged, operating on a near-feral level that we've never seen from him before. In his quest to wipe Ward off the map once and for all, he gets Leo (Iain De Caestecker) and Jemma (Elizabeth Henstridge) kidnapped by Hydra, with Malick (Powers Boothe) intent on using the five monolith stones to open the portal and send a team through to retrieve the original Inhuman on the planet. Who's the team? Leo, who surrendered to protect Jemma, and Ward, who's somehow convinced to lead the probable suicide mission by Malick. Oh, and they've got someone tagging along: Coulson himself, who dives out of a plane and straight through the portal like a boss. Only hiccup? He hits his head on impact and is down for the count. He better wake up soon. He's got a fallen love to avenge. What did you think of tonight's shocking episode? Bummed Rosalind didn't make it out alive? Sound off in the comments below and be sure to check back with us once the episode airs on the west coast to hear with Constance herself has to say about the brutal twist. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

10.       THE LUMBERJACKS

Bale remained in his tree like position for close to three weeks, unable to sing or talk to any one again. Together with the other trees he had to put-up with both favorable and unfavorable weather conditions. And at the end of the third week, the new chief, in the company of two other oyinbo men drove a lorry to the scene.  The three men alighted and immediately the two white skinned men began to carry out some measurements around Bale's tree perimeter. Then the new chief said to the tree, “no matter how thick the goat's neck is, it is no match for the butcher's knife. Let's wait and see!” After the men had completed their assignment, they left the scene the way they came. Bale was scared! He couldn't continue to stay mute any longer so he asked the trees, “Please what are they here for? Can somebody please answer me?”
“There are still some little chance boy,” answered the elderly tree, “for the next time the white lumberjacks return, I'm sure it will be with the chain saw!”
“The chain saw?” asked the tree boy. His leaves began to wither as the thought of being cut crossed his mind. “I can't move.” He said as all its branches shook vigorously, “Can somebody help me? Please help! I want to run away before they return!” But there was no more response from any of the trees. So he was forced to become quiet once again.

  9.       TREES TALK

It wasn't long before night fell. Bale the tree boy, felt it was getting darker and wanted to go home. But he found out that his legs were firmly rooted into the earth and couldn't move. Everywhere was dark and quiet and the evening fog was becoming to form. He felt cold and frightened; nevertheless he couldn't move an inch. No one was coming to listen to his songs anymore and suddenly it dawned on him that he had become a tree. “I think this is enough,” said the tree boy to himself, “I want to go home and sleep. I'm afraid to be out here alone!”

“Common tree boy,” said the tree closest to him, “you are not alone! We are here to keep you company. Please can you sing for us, the moon is out?”
Bale was astonished as he heard the tree spoke. “So you can talk?” asked he, “I never knew trees talk!”
“Of course we can,” answered another tree. It sounded like a very old one. “Everything has its language. Only that it cannot be understood by all. You can understand us now because you have now become one of us. As a human, we couldn't communicate with you. But now, we can because  you are now a tree.”
